How it all started

Seeds (formerly Little Roots Christian Academy) owners and teachers, Sofia and Cody Marshall, have a heart for children's ministry and have incorporated that into their preschool by sharing God's love through biblical teachings incorporated in everyday lessons within a Christian environment.

Sofia Marshall, Founder

Sofia grew up in New York and moved to Texas with her family as a young teen. She later moved to Denton with her husband, Cody, and stepson, Dawson. Now together they have two daughters, Grace and Suri, and an adorable dog, Oliver. Sofia graduated from Texas Woman’s University with a Bachelor’s Degree in Education and taught K-3rd grade for LISD for over ten years. Although she loved teaching at a public school, she was excited to start her own private Christian school and teach about Jesus.

John Cody Marshall, Founder

Cody was born and raised in Texas. He has three children and is married to his lovely wife, Sofia. Although he worked in sales most of his adult career, he later became a certified life coach and ordained minister. He has always felt called to serve the kingdom of God and has had the opportunity to serve in ministry for over a decade where he quickly realized that he had the most fun and passion for Kids Ministry. He was so excited to join his wife and start CRA!

The Vision for Growth

It was always in the deepest parts of our heart to have a ministry for children and their parents. We love kids. As our own kids grew, we saw the challenges of two careers and family life. God pressed upon our hearts to start Seeds (formerly Little Roots Christian Academy). A place where we can pour the love of God into students, their family and back into our family. The changes over the years with a private Christian preschool confirmed God was blessing our work. And just like the bible instructs us to be good stewards of what God has entrusted to us on earth (Matthew 25:21), we felt God calling us to produce more fruit. To sew deeper. And prayer confirmed that.

A campus with many buildings were children can engage and grow together
A chance to offer students through High School a chance to have a unique & individualize Christian academic experience
A ministry to love and grow the faith in all who pass through our doors
